For nonprofits · The Funding Hub

Search the money that funds missions.

The Funding Hub is 501 Labs' funding database: federal grants, federal assistance programs, private foundations, and community foundations, collected into one searchable place. Free, no account. Results here are live.

01What is inside

Public sources, collected and kept current.

Most sources refresh nightly; foundation filings update as the IRS releases them. No paywall and no per-seat pricing.

  • Federal grant opportunities from grants.gov, NIH, NSF, and the Federal Register
  • Federal assistance programs (CFDA listings) from SAM.gov
  • Private foundations from IRS 990 filings: who they fund, where, and how much
  • Community foundations, indexed by state and metro
  • State grant portals for California, New York, Texas, Illinois, Maryland, Connecticut, Vermont, Oregon, and New Jersey

02 · Matching

Ranked against your mission, not just keywords.

Seek, the grants Block, matches the Hub against your organization's mission profile and ranks what comes back: opportunities you can add to a pipeline, plus the foundations, federal programs, and community foundations most likely to fund work like yours. Free in Blocks.

03 · API and MCP

For developers and AI assistants.

The Hub is also a service: a REST API for verified nonprofits and an MCP connector so assistants like Claude can search it directly. Keys are issued from a free 501 Labs account under Seek.

Why is this on a consultant's website? Our founder started 501 Labs and built the Hub. Civic Dialog clients who serve nonprofits use it during scoping to size the funding a build could unlock. Everyone else should simply use it.
